Munro Medical Centre are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our current team, applicants should have good attention to detail, excellent communication skills and be able to follow practice protocols in dealing with test results, taking actions and communicating with the practice population. Applicants need to have excellent computer/keyboard skills, any previous experience with SystmOne or other clinical system would be beneficial, as would someone with some medical background or experience working in a similar role, however full training is available.

Job Summary

Provide a high quality, professional service to patients, visitors and colleagues. Provide practice population with an efficient results service; ensuring that all results are processed and actions taken accurately and timely in accordance with practice protocols. To provide administration to enable the practice to achieve Practice Targets.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive and action pathology results according to current practice guidelines
  • Communicate results to patients in a professional manner via telephone and in person.
  • Liaise with clinical staff and hospitals as required to enable queries to be resolved/actioned.
  • Maintain chronic disease registers, inviting patients in for reviews in a timely manner.
  • Action requests for fit notes
  • Co-ordinate referrals for retinopathy and dietician
  • Manage and maintain a robust call and re-call system
  • Work with colleagues to ensure QOF/target data captured and recorded correctly
  • Manage administration for “shared Care”
  • Assist in the delivery of enhanced services
  • Review external letters for action of new/changed medication
  • Take action on Blood Pressure readings taken from waiting room.
  • Support practice with national campaigns ie – Flu clinics and covid clinics
  • Smear and immunisation monitoring
  • Take part in annual appraisal
  • Undertake training (some mandatory) at regular intervals
  • Attend and contribute to monthly team meetings.
  • Some flexibility is required

  • Using personal security systems within the workplace according to Practice guidelines
  • Identifying the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks
  • Making effective use of training to update knowledge and skills
  • Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards
  • Reporting potential risks identified
  • Develop/Review Health & Safety policies & procedures along with Health & Safety Team and keep abreast of current legislation
