Changes to referrals from 1st October 2018

As of 1st October 2018, all routine & urgent referrals into secondary care will now go through the Referrals Facilitation Service (RFS). 

The RFS is managed by Optum, supporting the processing of patient referrals across South, South West & East Lincolnshire; the RFS can be contacted on 0808 169 7905 (opening hours 8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday excluding Bank Holidays). 

All referrals will be administratively reviewed to ensure they contain specific information to be able to direct it to the right place and meet the requirements of the hospital/service.

This means you will no longer receive Choose & Book paperwork with a choice of hospitals. Instead, you will receive a text message from us, letting you know your referral has been processed and who you should contact if you have any queries.
