Update 6th February 2012 - Patient Survey 2012
The Surgery is interested in finding out your views about the services we offer, and we would appreciate you taking the time to complete our survey and answer as many of the questions as possible that are relevant to you.
The closing date for this survey is Sunday 4th March 2012. The results of the survey will be published online at our website by the end of March 2012.
Find out more information, and access the survey
here».
Phone System Problem 27th --> 30th January 2012
The surgery experienced a hardware failure in part of our telephone system at approximately 4pm on Friday 27th January 2012. This meant that whilst calls to the surgery were still coming through, the normal call routing (menu) system was unavailable. The replacement hardware component was installed and configured by 11.30am Monday 30th January 2012.
To try and minimise any delay caused by this, we made extra staff available in our Reception Monday morning to handle calls. We apologise for any delay or inconvenience this may have caused, and appreciate your patience during this time.

UPDATE:
19th December 2011 |
2011 Flu Vaccination Program
There are no further planned clinics this year. If you still would like to take up the offer of a free flu vaccination, please call the surgery, or ask next time you're in the surgery and we may (subject to staff availability) be able to offer it to you whilst you wait. Please note flu vaccinations are for registered patients only.
Patient Reference Group
Thanks to all of you who applied, you can find further information and updates on what's happening with the patient participation group here:

Christmas & New Year Opening Hours
The Surgery & Dispensary is closed on the 26th & 27th December 2011, and the 2nd January 2012.
Opening hours are as normal all other times. Please remember that Bank Holidays & Weekends do not count as working days when submitting Repeat Prescription requests.
Our staff will be working hard to process your requests, but with public holidays this means trying to squeeze 5 days of repeat prescriptions into 3 in the Christmas week, and 5 into 4 the first week in January. We thank you for your patience and understanding, and will do our best to ensure any delays are minimised.
If you need help when the surgery is closed, information on services available can be found here:
http://www.munromedicalcentre.co.uk/out_of_hours.htm
Order Repeat Medication Online
Want to stay warm this winter instead of having to come to the surgery and drop off your repeat slip? Did you know you can submit your repeat prescription requests online? You'll need to register with Reception when you are next in the surgery, and you'll need to bring ID with you. They will then issue you with a username and password you can use to request repeat medication online via our website. Further information available here:
http://www.munromedicalcentre.co.uk/online_services.htm
Finally we would like to wish you all a happy, and healthy Christmas and New Year.

Summary Care Record
The practice will shortly be moving records onto the Summary Care Record system, and you will be receiving information through the post on what will happen, how this affects you, and how to opt out of it if you wish. If you still have questions after you have received information through the post then our staff will be happy to deal with your query.
SystmOnline Service
Interuption
There was a problem recently with access to the SystmOnline service which meant that some of you who use the system were unable to access your account. This affected access between Friday 23rd September and Tuesday 27th September (inclusive), and may have involved you having to have your password reset.
The SystmOnline service is not maintained by the Practice and is provided and maintained externally by our clinical systems supplier. The problem was outside our control, and affected all users of the system attempting to get access on the dates above The fault affected practices throughout the country, and was not limited to Munro Medical Centre.
We have been assured that the problem has now been resolved and that you should be able to access your account as normal.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

UPDATE:
1st September 2011 |
2011 Flu Vaccination
Programme
It's hard to believe
it's that time of year
again, our staff have
already been working
behind the scenes to
prepare our flu
vaccination programme
for this year.
We are
now taking bookings for
two Saturdays in October
at the Main Surgery, and
a Wednesday in October
for Pinchbeck.

information
SMS
Text Messaging
We
have started to
implement SMS text
messaging, and will be
sending appointment
confirmations and
reminders initially -
further details
available here:
http://www.munromedicalcentre.co.uk/sms_contact.htm
We're still working on
updating the original
building, and whilst the
planning of this has
taken longer than we
would have liked, we
hope to make additional
changes soon.
The patient car park has
now been returned to
almost full use, and
some further
modifications are
planned to increase
capacity by a couple of
more spaces.
If you travel to the
surgery by motor vehicle
and use Pinchbeck Road
or Woolram Wygate, a
reminder that the
junction of these roads
is currently closed now
until Mid November, with
temporary traffic lights
operating on all other
approaches - Diversions
operate around Park
Close & Park Road, or
via Pennygate & Park
Road. Please allow extra
time to get to the
surgery if you use this
route.
Please help other
patients by parking in
the marked bays and not
taking up more than 1
space (the bay markings
should be re-lined soon
so this is clearer). If
you are able walk or
cycle to the surgery in
the more pleasant
weather, please do so.
We provide a covered
cycle shelter for your
use between the surgery
and West Elloe Pharmacy.
For the comfort of all
patients, you are
reminded that smoking
and the consumption of
alcohol is not permitted
anywhere on the premises
(including the car
park).
Finally a reminder that
the surgery will be
closed on Monday 29th
August 2011 for the Bank
Holiday - please ensure
any prescription
requests are submitted
in time if you would
normally collect them
then. Please note that
the Bank Holiday does
not count as a working
day when submitting
repeat prescription
requests.
Building Work
The main building work is now complete. Please look out for new signs which will direct you to the new rooms and blue waiting area.
If the TV screens call you and ask you to go to the blue waiting area - follow the blue signs through the double-doors until you find the separate seated blue waiting area. Take a seat - you will be verbally called by the clinician when they are ready to see you.
Most of the main car park has now been reclaimed from the builders and the remainder will be made available as soon as possible.
Outside, covered cycle parking is now located between the surgery and the pharmacy. Signage and access to this, a motorcycle hardstanding, and an area for parking mobility scooters will be erected shortly when the weather improves. The car park will be re-lined better identifying available parking bays and allowing us best use of the available space, and access improved where possible. Please do not block the access road to the surgery - it is also the access route for the Fire Engine!
Work continues in the original building to update existing rooms and areas and improve our appearance and services we offer.
We thank you for your patience during this long running project. We appreciate at times work has made access difficult and noisy, and hope if you've visited us recently you are starting to see the benefits of the work.
Work is continuing albeit at a a slower pace to update facilities in the original building. We continue to take on board comments and suggestions many of you have made to us to try and improve the practice and the services we offer.
