FLU IMMUNISATION CAMPAIGN 2009

We are fast approaching that time of year again for our patients to protect themselves against the risk of influenza.

We strongly recommend that you take up the offer of a free vaccination.

Who is most at risk?

• All patients aged 65 years and over
• Any patient suffering from heart disease, diabetes, asthma or other respiratory disease, kidney disease or those who are immuno-suppressed due to disease or treatment
• People living in residential care
• Main carers of the elderly or disabled

Initially we shall be writing to patients who are in these at “risk groups” to invite them to attend for their immunisation.

We kindly request that patients try and attend at their nominated date and time, this allows the practice to have some control on the numbers attending at any one time and thus enable the clinics to run smoothly.

There are no expected problems this year with the supply or delivery of vaccines.

Vaccines will ONLY be available for patients registered at Munro Medical Centre.
