Nursing Staff
Many of the things that you might
think you need to see a doctor about
can often be dealt with by nurses,
all whom have been trained to deal
with some medical problems. Indeed,
for some things the nurse is more
experienced at dealing with the
problem than a doctor. Routine blood
pressure checks, HRT and
contraceptive prescribing, minor
illness management and management of
diabetes, coronary heart disease,
asthma and COPD and many conditions
come within their expertise.
The practice nurses also run daily
triage clinics. A triage clinic is a
clinic for patients who just feel
unwell for one reason or another. Please bring along a
patient
health questionnaire to your
appointment if you have any symptoms
of depression.
