2662 appointments were missed in 2010.

This means there is less capacity to see other patients and puts an unnecessary strain on the appointments system.

We regularly monitor the number of these wasted appointments (called a "DNA" which means "did not attend").

Please ensure that you cancel any appointment that you cannot make as soon as you are aware you will be unable to make it. The sooner you are able to cancel, the more likely it is we can offer the appointment to someone else who can use it.

We reserve the right to remove a patient from the list for patients who continually fail to attend pre-booked appointments without cancelling in good time beforehand, or without any other reason.

1. Are you registered for SystmOnline?
   Then click here to cancel your appointment.
    
2. Patients not registered for SystmOnline may complete the online administration form. You need to give at least 24 hrs notice to cancel using this online form. Click here.

We have started to introduce SMS/Text messaging, and if we have your own personal mobile phone number this will allow us to send you automatic appointment confirmations and reminders. We hope this will help to further reduce wasted appointments.
